Great British Landmark Fixers

I am appearing on a new Television show on UKTV Yesterday starting on MONDAY 22nd November at 8pm

  • Freeview Channel 26Channel 74 (+1)Cable

  • Virgin Media Channel 129 Channel 200 (+1)

  • Satellite Freesat Channel 159

  • Sky (UK) Channel 155 and Channel 255 (+1))

The show focuses on the refurbishment of historic landmarks in the UK and I provide a bit of the history about each one. This includes killing Thomas Beckett in Canterbury Cathedral. Later topics in the series (all on Mondays at 8pm) will be Edinburgh North Bridge, Southend’s Pier, The Royal Opera House, Manchester Town Hall and, my favourite, The London Sewers!

The Series is available online until Feb 2022:

It was great getting to research and learn all about these different Landmarks. It is amazing what things you thought you knew proved incorrect. Like for example where Bovril comes from - it turns out it wasn’t a beef stock for mams to make gravy with. It was actually a nerdy sci-fi drink served to visitors at the first science fiction convention back in the 19th Century!

As you can see from the backstage shots I took, we filmed in a library (not even my house has that many books) but fun fact - the books were all astronomy and science books - NOT history. TV lies.

Also the best thing about doing TV interviews is the lighting makes excellent selfies.

So here is another pic of my face:

Hope you enjoyed the show - unlike my netflix series my mother actually watched and enjoyed this one!
