This is the third Forum episode I’ve got to present on the BBC World Serivice (the others were on Pets and Deep Fakes) and I thoroughly enjoy hosting these discussions.
The last US election was the most expensive ever. 14 billion US dollars! A lot of it is spent on advertising and fundraising so part of the problem is a chunk of this money… is spent just getting more money. It is a global issue you need deep pockets to fight for political power. So how do parties try to persuade us – the voters – to choose their party over another?
If you don’t think the ideas of existing parties work for you starting your own can be immensely difficult by design, because politics is a club and they try to keep people out. The level of bureaucracy is insane!
