Anita Rani: Mumbai India
When I first think of Mumbai I picture an exhausted Michael Palin getting off his Dhow and walking up to an ornate arch (the Gateway to India), moving through the traffic getting building that resembles a cross between a decedent hotel and one of her majesty’s prisons and flopping down on the bed. The hustle of Mumbai I think is the thing that attracts Anita Rani to the city most, while it is the very thing that makes me want to hide in a cool hotel room. Will the chaos, the money, the food, the poverty, the bling, the rubbish, the mass of contradictions attract Mr Keaveny to spend his holiday money in this historic city? Or will he be like me, avoiding the nightlife, the crowds and the big cats (!) by snoozing in his hotel room?
