Mornington Peninsula - Krishnan Guru Murthy

It is a hell of a trick to be able to come from a serious broadcast atmosphere of a newsroom, pop to a different building, talk to two idiots about flip flops and then go back to broadcasting live to the nation, but that is exactly what Krishnan Guru Murthy did when we recorded this episode of Your Place Or Mine.

As an aside, I’ve never seen BBC producers so star struck as they were when Krishnan walked in the studio. I mean, the man IS the news. One producer who shall not be named, got so flustered that when she escorted him out the building she managed to get them lost in the basement. She considered setting off the fire alarm to release him through the emergency exits, but fortunately her wits returned and he was delivered back to Channel 4 News on time.

This week we go to the Mornington Peninsula, just south of Melbourne. It is part of the world I’ve visited before, as a kid, and experienced the hottest weather of my life, though you will see Krishnan claims otherwise. Will Shaun brave the sharks, flies and spiders as well as the showbiz lifestyle in economy for a trip down under? Or is Krishnan’s tie bright enough to give us our vitamin D?
